Mostar: oriental destination
mostar_4Mostar is an unofficial capital of Herzegovina its Mostar's old city is an important tourist destination with the Stari most being its most recognizable feature. The Catholic pilgrimage site of Medugorje is also nearby. The Mediterranean climate makes it the warmest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina with mostly sunny days and clear blue skies. "... when you spent a night in Mostar, it is not the sound that wakes you up in the morning, but the  light..." (Ivo Andric, Nobel Prize winner). Many of the buildings in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt.

mostar23Among them is the Old Bridge with the contribution of UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, Ottoman, Mediterranean and western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar is a symbol of of the coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities. Mostar is easy to reach on from the Croatian resorts. However, it is also worth to visit some of the nearby sights of the area - Kravica Waterfalls, Blagaj, Pocitelj, or Radimlja necropolis.
